Today, I just searched about some subjects. How incredibly the AI works. These models really blow my mind. This model gives information about the subject and helps you make a better decision. After some time, I realised that GenAI is taking information that is already there in the web browser and passing that information to the user in a better way (in a descriptive manner). As per my experience, GenAI is nothing Model that feeds the data that is already there in somewhere on the internet.
On the Other hand, it has access to data which able to be accessed publicly. Let's say you account on Facebook, but your account is public and anyone can view that account information or video. Similarly, GenAI Access or view our information, which is public and feeds to the user. But there are some specific limitations and security policies that are associated with generative AI to protect user data and ensure ethical usage. This is pretty obvious.
For instance, it does not access private information unless explicitly provided by the user. Additionally, some of the more platforms are implementing generative AI strict guidelines to prevent the misuse of data, ensuring that AI does not compromise individual privacy.
These approaches help to maintain a balance between leveraging publicly available data and safeguarding personal data.
If some platforms implement security guidelines, then there are still many platforms are there which not implement comprehensive policies. This lack of guidelines can lead to an increase in the risk factor regarding data privacy and security. It’s essential for users to be aware of the policies of the platforms they engage with and to take precautions when sharing personal information. Then one question arises in my mind.
What might GenAI do with this information?
As we discussed earlier, GenAI use publicly available data to generate responses and provide insights. It doesn’t access your private data unless provided by the user. While interacting with GenAi, it might:
- Trained Data Pattern: GenAI models trained on a large dataset sometimes include public and personal information. This data helps to teach the model and recognise the pattern.
- Data breach: GenAI platforms are vulnerable to cybercrime. If the platform were breached, the data you store on GenAI prompts could be exposed to an attacker.
- Creation of fake image: GenAI can create a realistic image, which can be used for scams, misleading individuals, and it can be used to threaten, harm people.
- Social engineering Attacks: GenAI can automate the creation of convincing fake emails, messages, and website content.GenAI can mimic a person’s writing style or generate a realistic image to access your personal information.
Please don't share your personal information on social media, and GenAI be aware.
